#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement built by individuals and communities around the world. On #GivingTuesday, millions of people come together to support and champion the causes they believe in by donating and fundraising on their behalf.
This year #GivingTuesday falls on November 28th. In celebration, Facebook is launching a matching campaign to support charities. All donations made through Facebook’s charitable giving tools on November 28th, starting at 12am local time in the UK, will be matched up to £10K per charity and £400 per fundraiser or donate button
Matching Gift Details
All donations made through Facebook’s charitable giving tools on November 28th, starting at 12am local time in the UK, will be matched up to £10K per charity and £400 per fundraiser or donate button -and will continue matching donations to charities -until the £200K in matching funds runs out.
There are no processing fees for donation made to UK charities on Facebook.
Tools for Raising Money on #GivingTuesday

Eligibility & Reporting
Here are general details for using Facebook’s charitable giving tools.
Facebook offers a suite of tools to allow supporters to fundraise on behalf of charitable organizations in select countries. To receive distributions, your nonprofit must apply and be approved by Facebook Payments.
Charities that have been approved to receive donations through Facebook Payments will have access to the following reports:
Daily Transaction Report – This report includes detailed information on each donation made to your organization, whether through the donate button or through a fundraiser. This report includes fields like First Name, Last Name, Amount Donated and Email Address (if the donor decides to share it). This report also indicates whether the donor chose to Gift Aid their donation. More information on Gift Aid can be found here.
Payout Report – This report shows the funds that will be transferred into your account. Learn more about this report and the timing of payouts here.

A. Up to £400 per fundraiser or donate button can be matched. Up to £10K per charity button can be matched.
Q. Why are there #GivingTuesday match caps in place?
A. We’ve included caps on the match amounts in order to encourage people to support a range of causes on #GivingTuesday.
Q. How will I know how much my fundraiser has been matched?
A. You will see a banner on your fundraiser after #GivingTuesday indicating the amount raised.
Q. When does the match start and end?
A. The match begins at 12am local UK time and will run until it is out.
Q. Are there fees for fundraising for charities?
A. No, there are no fees.
Q. If I add a donate button or create a fundraiser before #GivingTuesday, is it eligible for matched donations?
A. Yes, donations made on #GivingTuesday to a charity fundraiser will be matched as long as the match is available.
Q: Why can’t I find the charity I want to fundraise for?
A: We recently launched charitable giving features in Europe and we are excited to roll out more broadly. To qualify, charitable organizations based in the European countries where Facebook donation and fundraising tools are available must provide a VAT number (if applicable), charity registration number (where applicable), a charity registration document issued or approved by a government entity and a bank account registered with a licensed financial services institution. Eligible organizations can sign up here.
