Eligibility, Fees & Reporting for Nonprofits
Here are general details for using Facebook’s charitable giving tools.
Facebook offers a suite of tools to allow supporters to fundraise on behalf of charitable organizations in select countries. To receive distributions, your nonprofit must apply and be approved by Facebook Payments. If your nonprofit is a US-based 501(c)(3) organization and has not applied, you could receive distributions through the Network for Good Donor Advised Fund if you are listed in GuideStar.
We’re committed to building products that make it secure and easy for people to contribute to the causes they care about directly on Facebook. To do this at scale, we apply limited fees for our charitable giving products that go toward vetting, security, fraud prevention, operational costs and payment support. This is in line with the industry standard for fundraising tools.
This #GivingTuesday, Facebook will be waiving all fees for donations made to nonprofits.
Nonprofits that have been approved to receive donations through Facebook Payments will have access to the following reports:
Daily Transaction Report – This report includes detailed information on each donation made to your organization, whether through the donate button or through a fundraiser. This report includes fields like First Name, Last Name, Amount Donated and Email Address (if the donor decides to share it).
Payout Report – This report shows the funds that will be transferred into your account. Learn more about this report and the timing of payouts here.
